NEW: In-House Insurance Plan
Westside Dental in Central NY practices sedation dentistry to ease the dental anxiety of our patients and allow them to get the dental care that they need. As dentists, we commonly see patients who are frightened and have severe anxiety about having any dental work done. We at Westside Dental understand your apprehension. Conscious sedation is a safe and comfortable way to get your teeth taken care of without the stress. Our dentists have been trained in conscious sedation, and we stay up to date with the current developments by continuing our education.
How Does It Work?
Often, a prescription of Valium is called in by the dentist which the patient is supposed to take the night before the procedure. Your companion will accompany you to our dental office. You will be drowsy. You will be given pills one hour prior to the start of your dental procedures. Once sufficiently sedated, your procedure can begin. Your vital signs will be monitored while you are relaxing in the dental chair. Nitrous Oxide (oral sedation) can be used in conjunction with conscious sedation dentistry.
End Your Suffering
Call us today for expert tooth extraction.
Westside Dental in Central NY removes teeth through simple or surgical tooth extraction methods. A dental extraction is a removal of a tooth from the mouth. Tooth extraction procedures are far less painful than they used to be because of the strong local anesthetic sedation used. In most cases, patients who have tooth extractions experience little discomfort and minor bleeding. Our dentists will use topical gel or spray to numb the area before Novocain is injected to reduce the discomfort. After extraction, sometimes antibiotics and strong pain pills are required, depending upon the procedure, to make sure infection does not occur.
The Most Common Reasons for Tooth Extraction
- A badly broken tooth or extensive decay where root canal therapy, fillings, or crowns are not enough to save a tooth
- Extra teeth, which are blocking other teeth from coming in (often recommended by
- your orthodontist)
- Fractured teeth
- Inefficient space for wisdom teeth
- Severe gum disease, which may affect the supporting tissue and bone structure of teeth
Visit Our Office
Dentures are a great option for people who are missing teeth. Whether the teeth were lost due to disease, malnutrition, an accident, or a genetic disorder, dentures are a reason to smile again.
Westside Dental in Central NY offers both full and partial dentures to our patients, including same-day dentures.
Complete or partial dentures help in chewing and support the facial muscles while also helping to improve speech. Conventional dentures are removable. However, there are many designs available, which rely on clasping on dental implants and onto teeth.
Dental implants are replacements for the roots of your teeth. Implants provide a strong foundation for fixed (permanent) or removable replacement teeth that are made to match your natural teeth. Implants and dentures are great for improved appearance, improved speech, improved comfort, easier eating, and improved self-esteem.
